Hi!

My name is Rohin Narang, and I am a rising junior in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Before I was born, my parents emigrated from New Delhi, India, to the United States, where my father began his residency, setting him on a path to become a Gastroenterologist. My parents have helped my sister and I understand that they moved to this country so that our lives will be full of opportunity, education, and prosperity. Over the years, they have worked hard to make this possible, and I find that their efforts have brought me closer to success. I am fortunate enough to attend a respected school, to live in a flourishing city, and to have exposure to successful individuals.

These circumstances have further enabled me to explore my interests–particularly business. Growing up, my sister and I always loved baking–whether it was for friends, family, or just a random Tuesday. During the lockdown, my sister and I decided to turn our passion for baking into a business called Sliced. As the months went on, we expanded Sliced by designing business cards, setting up an Instagram page (@sliced4life), building a website, and participating in several marketplaces to increase publicity. Thanks to the support of my parents and access to several resources essential to a baking business–such as technology, a functional oven, and a fridge–my sister and I had the opportunity to take Sliced to the next level by expanding our influence in our community and social media platforms.

But I realize that there are countless students my age who do not have such opportunities.

Nowadays, there are many young high school students who are interested in business, but face disadvantages and social/economic inequality. Through Entrepreneur Voices, I aim to encourage these students and convey a clear message to them: socio-economic hardships do not prevent success. As part of Entrepreneur Voices, I will conduct monthly interviews with executives and entrepreneurs who have overcome such obstacles. My goal is to help my audience learn about their journeys, and showcase perseverance, confidence, and success.  Recordings of these interviews will be available in the Content tab!
